With the long weekend ahead of us there is plenty of opportunity for a fun DIY or two. This cute idea was inspired by Pinterest (of course!), but I put my own spin on it. Starting with a trip to the nursery at my local hardware store, I picked up a terra cotta pot and saucer, a sweet little succulent and some potting soil. Then I headed to the studio and got out the paint.
I painted two coats of white on the pot and the saucer.
While that dried, I found a doily image in the Silhouette design library, modified it a bit and cut it out of vinyl with the Silhouette Portrait. (I use this fabulous little machine ALL the time.) I adhered the vinyl in the pattern I wanted.
Added a couple coats of pink paint…
…and peeled the vinyl off after the paint was dry.
Put some small river rocks in the bottom for drainage. Added potting soil and the succulent.
Added some more river rocks to the top of the soil. And…
Awww, how sweet is this?! What are you going to craft this weekend?
P.S. Have I mentioned HOW much I love my Silhouette?
